About Ana

“I’m the gatekeeper of my own destiny and I will have my glory day in the hot sun”  Nacho Libre movie.

Ana Lucia is a PhD in logic and art/tech/culture enthusiast. She did her PhD (graduated in June 2020) at the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC) at the University of Amsterdam, funded by CONACyT Mexico, and under the supervision of  Dr. Alexandru Baltag, Prof. dr. Dick de Jongh and Dr. Aybüke Özgün.

Her research focuses on the study of information change in dynamic systems and inductive learning, and it lies at the interface between two areas in mathematics, logic, and computer science: formal learning theory and dynamic modal logics. In particular, she investigates the process of learning from observations and public communication in single- and multi-agent systems. Other academic interests include AI, decision theory, belief revision, formal epistemology, fragments of propositional logic, foundations of mathematics, set theory, and logical modelling in cognitive science.

In previous years Ana Lucia obtained her MSc in Logic at the ILLC and her Bachelor diploma in Mathematics and Physics at Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo in Morelia, Mexico.

Besides science, science communication, and its positive applications, her other passion is writing poetry and short stories.
